Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation GRADUATE SCHOOL

The Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation – Institutional Learning Outcomes (VMUF–ILOs) reflect the institution’s wide-ranging vision and mission. It is the set of overarching learning outcomes that all students must achieve prior to investiture and commencement. All program and course learning outcomes are mapped to the institutional outcomes, thus reflecting an overall alignment of knowledge, skills, and attitudes expected at program accomplishment. Graduates will be lifelong learners and will become dynamic leaders in their communities and in nation building; thus, becoming more productive and globally competitive professionals.

 

As an outcome of their educational experiences at Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation, graduates will be able to:

 

KNOWLEDGE

  • Exemplify an eloquent and comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter that they will apply to their specific fields of discipline;

  • Use relevant theories and approaches to effectually discover issues, objects, and/ or creations;

  • Apply the latest developments in the fields of Instruction, Research, Training, and Service; and

  • Analyze and solve problems by using critical thinking based on evidence, sound reasoning, and/or ingenuity.

 

SKILLS

  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing using both English and Filipino;

  • Demonstrate skills with increasing efficiency, confidence, and proficiency, to meet employment standards globally;

  • Work effectively, independently or interdependently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams; and

  • Construct developmental projects and generate new knowledge.

 

ATTITUDES

  • Participate  actively  in the preservation and protection of the environment and natural resources;

  • Preserve and promote “Filipino historical and cultural heritage”;

  • Exemplify Christian values in their personal, professional, and civic endeavors as Virginians under the inspiration and patronage of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal; and

  • Act in recognition of professional, social, and ethical responsibility.

VISION

The VMUF Graduate School is envisioned as a leading educational institution of excellence producing diverse groups of graduate and professional students, who have nurtured in them the advancement of Critical Strategic Leadership, and Administrative and Academic Approaches.

 

MISSION

The mission of VMUF Graduate School is to augment the advancement of training on Critical Strategic Leadership, Administrative, and Academic Approaches with the following pillars of excellence:

  • Research, to produce graduate and professional students who foster scholarly researches promoting innovation and discovery, needed for national development;

  • Instruction, to create an enhanced learning and mentoring experience for the graduate and professional students and make them lead in their chosen career paths;

  • Training, to provide graduate and professional students positive dispositions toward their chosen career paths; and

  • Service, to let the graduate and professional students establish the importance of meeting the society’s critical needs by engaging in mutually beneficial partnerships with the local, regional, and national community.

 

OBJECTIVES

The VMUF Graduate School shall provide quality education in the profession, conduct researches in the scientific and technological fields and other relevant studies, and manage community extension services. It aims to prepare and form:

  • Qualified teachers who are the most vital instruments in upgrading educational standards, and men and women prepared for leadership posts in all fields of endeavor in rapidly changing local, regional, national, and international environments.

  • Researchers who will explore for new world of knowledge, discover, test, and nurture ideas in the scientific and technological fields; and

  • Scholars and leaders who will apply new knowledge and innovations to solve local and worldwide concerns, as well as develop responsive extension programs.
